(22) pictures of the murderous intrigue of religious politics (visiting the Tower of London)

The pictures tell the story. Saint John Fisher’s remains were not individuated among the remains of some 1,500 corpses dumped under the chapel floor. When the renovations of the chapel took place, all the remains were removed and buried here in the crypt chapel. He’s in one of the two big boxes behind the plaques pictured here. There are also some thirty tiny caskets with the remains of those who were identified.
