039 days old in the womb of the Virgin Mary, and 236 days to Christmas! So, what does that have to do with the murderous intrigue of interreligious politics between Jews, Christians and Islam?

An old depiction of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, S. Maria de perpetuo succursu, that is, perpetual “running under”, in other words, to support the one needing support. How humble of God’s Son to come among us with a human nature along with His divine nature, born of the Virgin Mary! I’ve been insisting on this goodness and kindness of the Lord in this series, contrasting this with the understanding of God’s holiness as promoted by Islam, which does not afford the God this height of love and compassion. That is strong criticism, it is true. However, it must be said that God is omnipotent in His love, and that this is not limited by His holiness, which is not lessened or damaged by this love. This remains true when, with the greatest love ever, God Incarnate takes on the justice waiting for us. As it is, justice and mercy in God are the same. Of course they are.
