038 days old in the womb of the Virgin Mary, and 237 days to Christmas! So, what does that have to do with the murderous intrigue of interreligious politics between Jews, Christians and Islam?

I received this comment on the last one of this series:

It’s needed;
Please
Solute, respect one another
Never mock, and never kill
Life in contentment and peace

Let’s fisk this, shall we? I do this is a spirit of goodness and kindness, even if fisking is a rather rough experience. If the comment seems too good to be true, that’s because it is. Remember, this is in response to what I said in the previous post of this series, repeated just here:

This is Our Lady of Consolation (from the front cover of a prayer booklet a friend sent me the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio. I’d like to make a pilgrimage there some day, but that’s on the far side of the world from where I am. Here are some words from the booklet:

I am so humbled when I recall this moment of ultimate grace for mankind, this ultimate grace for me. My God comes to me as a little child, poor and cold in the darkenss of a cave. This King of kings reaches out from His manger to give to a longing world His love and redemption from our sin.

In other words, isn’t our Lord just so good and kind as to come into this world of murderous intrigue so as to take us, His creatures, back to Himself? Such goodness is rejected as being impossible by Islam. Too bad. Maybe one day they will come to realise that God is omnipotent in His love. Really.

[[my comments in brackets, in red]]

It’s needed; [[What?]]
Please [[What? And why ask me? Did I do something wrong? ]]
Solute [[Greetings, health? O.K. Same to you!]], respect one another [[Always! Very good!]]
Never mock [[Whoops! Let's define our terms... And anyway, where did I mock anyone in what I said about Islam thinking that Allah is too holy to be just so merciful as to come among us. That's the way it is. Are YOU mocking them?]], and never kill [[Let's really define our terms. Killing and murder are not the same thing. Self-defence, even having lethal effects if the threat is lethal and there is no other way, is a contribution to the virtue of justice.]]
Life in contentment [[IF you're not making a distinction between murder and killing, any life in contentment just won't happen your way, my friend, except for a wallowing in a kind of self-congratulatory blindness. Watching innocent bystanders getting murdered on a continuous basis only brings a feeling of contentment to those who are either sick or evil or stupid. And that's not mockery. It's just the way it is. It's a pretty rough world. It's just the way it is.]] and peace [["Peace! Peace!" they shouted, when there was no peace, thus facilitating all hell to break loose. It that what you really want?]]

Now, in that fisking I wanted to define mockery a bit more clearly. Some people may think that some of the things I say on this blog are said in a spirit of mockery, as in hate speech and all that. Well, no. Mockery and sarcasm can be done in a spirit of charity and love, this sometimes being the only way people can be brought to their senses. Often, just repeating in plain words what other people say is enough to bring about an effective irony such that the person sees the mistake in their perspective because of seeing the truth of the matter more clearly. This is my aim in the Trilogy of novels and in all the posts on this blog.

Now, again, what does all this have to do with the title of this post — 038 days old in the womb of the Virgin Mary, and 237 days to Christmas! So, what does that have to do with the murderous intrigue of interreligious politics between Jews, Christians and Islam? — Well, everything!

The Incarnation of God brings justice and mercy together in a way that is thought to be impossible for Allah by Islam. Islam exaggerates insistence on Allah being so merciful since Islam sees no reasonable justice in Allah, that is, no justice which is necessarily the same thing as mercy, that is, no justice which is reasonable to our intellect. The reason for this rests primarily with their motive for submitting to Allah, that is, to offer a bribe of child-sacrifice for Allah’s favour. Nothing more or less than that. Read about it in sura 37:100-113 of the Quran, which turns inside-out, back to front and upside-down the account in Genesis 22 as well as the Catholic understanding of that passage. This is commented on at length in Book 1 of the Trilogy, which, I might say, is not a bad read, even if it is a bit challenging with some lateral thinking.

Welcome to new visitors! To read about why the tags for these posts are the way they are, and so to read more about the murderous intrigue of interreligious politics between Jews, Catholics and Muslims by way of what I hope is a trilogy of novels being blogged out here, click on the blog-header for the table of contents. Make sure to read all the opening pages of the Trilogy to see what this is all about. Then go to the full posts-page for day to day fisking.

Cheers! לחיים
